group known as Trebon Pipers was founded in 1974 by two teachers, Milena
Simeckova and her husband Vaclav Simecek, they have been running the group
up now and bringing up new players, all that in their spare time. There
are about 60 young musicians, mostly students from Trebon schools, in two
concert groups which differ not only in the age of players, but also in
their repertoire. Trebon Pipers play on all types of recordes accompanied
by the violoncello, guitar, glockenspiel, piano and small percussion. Both
groups have also their own vocalist. basic repertoire includes about 200
short compositions and songs played by heart. More than 150 young people
have passed trough the group during 25 years of its existence, during which
they have performed both in the Czech republic and abroad. |
