| The Prague Symphony
Pops Orchestra (PSPO) was founded in 1985 by members of the Prague Symphony
Orchestra FOK to fill a void in the Prague musical community for a highcalibre
orchestra performing both light classical and ballroom dance music. The
orchestra premiered at the First Musician's Ball in Prague in 1985 to great
critical acclaim. Since its premiere engagement, the PSPO has performed
on special occasions and international meetings for dignitaries such as
Vaclav Havel, as well as at the balls celebrations in the greater Prague
area.The PSPO specializes in pieces of easy - listening classical music,
classical favorites, and ballroom dance music. The PSPO's versatile and
extensive repertoire enables them to offer types of classical and contemporary
music for varied occasions. The PSPO strives to satisfy not only the music
critics but first and foremost, its audience of listeners.
